Job summary

Great Plains Manufacturing, a Kubota Company, invites applications for its 2027 Summer Internship Program in the Salina, KS area. Lean Engineer interns work on-site from mid‑May to early August, earning $20/hour with a 4‑day work week (Mon–Thu, 6:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.). Housing is provided for interns outside the Salina area.

Interns complete a project with a mentor, applying college knowledge to manufacturing equipment and enjoying summer activities to network with Great Plains employees.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Ag Systems or related engineering major.
• Willingness to live within commuting distance of Salina, KS area for the summer duration.
• Ability to work full-time on-site (40 hours/week) during the Summer.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment physical exam and drug screen within a week of start date.
• Proof of identity and legal work authorization (I-9) on first day.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to Salina area and activities.

Responsibilities

• Complete a Lean Engineering project under a mentor.
• Gain practical experience in manufacturing environments.
• Collaborate with engineers and production teams on the shop floor.
