Job summary

Wolfspeed in Marcy, NY is seeking a Quality Engineer to support the Quality Management System for the Mohawk Valley Fab. You will interface with customer quality engineers, lead root-cause analysis, and ensure corrective actions across manufacturing and supplier quality teams.

The role requires a BS in engineering, 3–5 years in semiconductor manufacturing, knowledge of quality systems, and strong communication and project management skills.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or related degree.
• Minimum 3-5 years' experience in semiconductor manufacturing
• Knowledge of quality systems, semiconductor materials, and semiconductor wafer fabrication.
• The ability to operate in a fast paced, highly dynamic environment and to execute at both a detailed level as well as a strategic level.
• Excellent communication and project management skills.
• Familiarity with quality management systems and documentation practices. Experience with IATF 16949, AS9100, or ISO9001 strongly preferred.
• Basic understanding of quality core tools (FMEA, PPAP, APQP, SPC) is a strong plus.
• Excellent communication and project management skills with a keen focus on attention to detail.
• Works independently, self-motivated, takes ownership and accountability for process deadlines.
• Ability to work in large, complex, global environment, in a fast-paced environment, and remains flexible to support changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Interface with customers quality engineers on complaints and returns. Lead problem solving with cross functional teams to determine root cause and corrective actions.
• Support the Manufacturing Quality business processes for the IATF 16949 certified Marcy site including change management, non-conformance management, corrective actions, etc.
• Work with fab engineers to evaluate supplier PCNs and issue vendor corrective action SCARS supporting the Supplier and Incoming Quality business process.
• Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with key internal stakeholders including the factory and business unit leadership.
