Job description

Wolfspeed is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Product Quality Engineer for our silicon carbide power business. The role focuses on driving customer satisfaction by aligning customer needs with continuous improvement actions in our fabs.

Location and Reporting

This position reports to the Director of Manufacturing Quality Engineering and can be based onsite in either Marcy, NY (Mohawk Valley Fab) or Durham, NC (Silicon Dr Facility).

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Manage and drive timely closure of customer issues by collaborating with business teams, factories, and support teams.
• Lead and support quality management activities such as event management, audits, RMA responses, and problem‑solving feedback to customers.
• Work with internal technical organizations and teams to ensure high quality products and meet customer expectations.
• Drive quality improvements to meet all customer expectations regarding PPM of shipped products, quality of corrective action reports, and cycle time of customer requests.
• Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with business and fab engineering teams.
• Direct, manage and coordinate cross‑functional engineering activities to solve internal quality issues and respond to customer quality issues.
• Receive assignments in the form of broad objectives and translate them into detailed action plans to meet objectives.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related degree.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience, preferably with a focus on semiconductor engineering and quality.
• Knowledge in quality systems and semiconductor wafer fabrication.
• Good understanding of the global automotive business, customer requirements, and end user behavior.
• Ability to operate in a fast‑paced, highly dynamic environment at both detailed execution and tactical/strategic levels.
• Demonstrated capability of interacting with senior leaders throughout the organization.
