Job summary

Georgia-Pacific Toledo is seeking a Quality Engineer to ensure products meet customer, regulatory and quality standards. You will lead investigations, drive corrective actions, support risk-based decisions, and collaborate with operations, technical, environmental, and supply chain teams to prevent repeat issues.

You’ll guide root-cause analyses, participate in containment and verification activities, and coach teams on disciplined problem solving and documentation.

Qualifications

• Lead root cause analyses for complaints, nonconformances, deviations, audits and recurring issues.
• Drive containment, investigation, action planning, verification and closure for product stewardship.
• Interpret technical data and customer requirements to support risk-based decisions.
• Maintain knowledge of quality management systems, specifications, process control, audits, and data-driven problem solving.
• Communicate complex findings clearly to business and customer-facing teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead structured root cause analyses for customer complaints, product nonconformances, process deviations, audit findings, and recurring quality issues using tools such as 5 Whys, Fishbone/Ishikawa, FMEA, and statistical trending.
• Own or support Product Stewardship activities, including containment, investigation, action planning, implementation, verification of effectiveness, documentation, and closure.
• Serve as a product stewardship resource by evaluating quality risks, regulatory considerations, customer use requirements, specification changes, and life-cycle impacts.
• Partner with manufacturing, technical, environmental, procurement, logistics, sales, and customer-facing teams to align product decisions with safety, compliance, customer expectations, and business risk.
• Analyze production, lab, inspection, customer feedback, and process data to identify trends, prevent defects, reduce variation, and improve product performance.
• Develops and coaches the Operations Teams on quality procedures, control plans, inspection criteria, specifications, and product disposition workflows.
• Support customer complaint investigations, technical reviews, audit responses, claims, regulatory inquiries, and product stewardship reviews.
• Coach teams on disciplined problem solving, evidence-based decisions, quality expectations, and effective documentation.
