Job summary

Georgia-Pacific Toledo is seeking a Quality Engineer to ensure products meet customer, regulatory, internal quality, and stewardship expectations. You will lead investigations, drive CAPAs, and partner with operations, technical, environmental, and supply chain teams to prevent repeat issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, chemistry, materials science, paper science, or related technical field.
• Experience in quality engineering, manufacturing, or process engineering.
• Demonstrated ability to lead root cause investigations and implement CAPAs.

Responsibilities

• Lead root cause analyses for complaints, nonconformances, and deviations using 5 Whys, Ishikawa, FMEA, and trend analysis.
• Own or support Product Stewardship activities including containment, investigation, planning, and closure.
• Evaluate quality risks, regulatory considerations, customer use requirements, and life-cycle impacts for product decisions.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, environmental, procurement, logistics, sales, and customer teams to align product decisions with safety and customer expectations.
• Analyze production and lab data to identify trends, prevent defects, reduce variation, and improve product performance.
• Develops and coaches Operations on quality procedures, control plans, inspection criteria, and product disposition workflows.
• Support customer complaint investigations, technical reviews, audit responses, and regulatory inquiries.
• Coach teams on disciplined problem solving and evidence-based decision making.
