Job summary

EssilorLuxottica (Oakley division) is seeking a Quality Senior Engineer (Test & Reliability) to lead reliability engineering and product qualification across eyewear and protective gear lines. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or a related science discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in reliability engineering, product testing, validation, product qualification, or laboratory engineering.
• Experience with engineering test methods, qualification protocols, and validation plans.
• Experience testing consumer, sporting PPE, or similarly regulated products.
• Knowledge of root cause analysis, FMEA, DOE, statistics (Minitab), and structured problem solving.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, product specifications, technical standards, and test requirements.
• Experience developing or specifying test equipment, fixtures, and instrumentation.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across engineering, quality, manufacturing, regulatory, and laboratory teams.
• Ability to train and mentor laboratory technicians in test methods and data collection.

Responsibilities

• Lead product qualification and validation testing for eyewear and related products.
• Develop and execute reliability, qualification, functional, optical, mechanical, impact, environmental, durability, and compliance testing.
• Develop, document, and maintain test methods, procedures, protocols, and work instructions.
• Translate product specs and standards into test requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Design, qualify, and implement test equipment and fixtures for performance testing.
• Support regulatory, certification, and industry-standard testing; interpret domestic and international standards.
• Lead failure investigations and root cause analysis; verify corrective actions.
• Review and approve technical test reports; communicate conclusions on performance and release readiness.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to improve reliability and durability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Quality, Product Development, R&D, Regulatory, Manufacturing, Sourcing, and external labs.
