Job summary

Oakley, a division of EssilorLuxottica, seeks a Sr. Engineer, Quality (Reliability & Test) to lead reliability engineering, product qualification, and performance testing for eyewear and related products.

You will direct qualification activities, develop test methods, and mentor technicians across cross-functional teams in a fast-paced lab environment. The role requires 5+ years in reliability and a strong background in DOE, FMEA, and statistical analysis.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in reliability engineering, testing, validation, or lab engineering.
• Experience developing test methods, qualification protocols, and validation plans.
• Experience with mechanical, optical, environmental, durability, or reliability testing of consumer or regulated products.
• Knowledge of FMEA, DOE, statistics (Minitab), and structured problem solving.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, standards, and test requirements.
• Experience designing test equipment, fixtures, and instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead product qualification and validation testing for eyewear and related products.
• Develop and execute reliability, qualification, functional, optical, and environmental tests.
• Create and maintain lab test methods, procedures, and work instructions.
• Translate requirements into test criteria and acceptance standards.
• Design and implement test equipment, fixtures, and instrumentation.
• Support regulatory, certification, and customer-specific testing; interpret standards.
• Lead failure investigations and root-cause analysis; verify corrective actions.
• Review test reports and provide conclusions on performance and release readiness.
• Provide technical leadership to improve reliability and durability.
• Train laboratory technicians in test methods and Best Practices.
