Job summary

HireArt is helping an on-demand ride-hailing company in Foster City, CA find a Quality Engineer, Prototyping to ensure vehicle assembly, bring-up, and End-of-Line testing meet high-quality standards.

You’ll develop inline and end-of-line quality checks, perform root-cause analysis, and drive PFMEAs and control plans. The role requires 4+ years in quality or manufacturing, GD&T knowledge, and the ability to work independently with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering.
• 4+ years in quality or manufacturing.

Expected compensation: 76.54 USD Per Hour

HireArt is helping an on-demand, autonomous ride-hailing company find a Quality Engineer, Prototyping to ensure that vehicle assembly, bring-up, and End-of-Line (EOL) testing processes meet high-quality standards.

In this role, you’ll develop and implement In-Line and End-of-Line quality checks while driving root cause analysis and resolution for issues identified throughout the manufacturing process. You’ll also help establish quality processes, documentation, and controls that improve vehicle assembly and testing.

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented quality engineer with strong manufacturing experience and a solid understanding of quality management practices. You’re comfortable working independently, analyzing quality data, resolving manufacturing issues, and collaborating across engineering, manufacturing, and supplier teams.

As a Quality Engineer, Prototyping, You'll

• Develop and integrate quality and functional checks into the manufacturing process.
• Conduct root cause analysis for assembly-related issues.
• Develop, implement, and optimize End-of-Line processes.
• Create and maintain Process Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (PFMEAs) and control plans.
• Analyze quality data to improve assembly and testing processes.
• Work cross-functionally to resolve supplier quality and design-related issues identified during manufacturing.
• Contribute to the definition and continuous improvement of quality policies and procedures.
• Develop procedures, instructions, and processes to support alignment with international quality system standards, including IATF 16949 and ISO 9000.
• Review Jira tickets to ensure data accuracy and quality.
• Create balloon drawings and inspection report templates.
• Review inspection documentation and follow established approval processes.
• Follow nonconformance processes when issues are identified.
• Maintain dashboards and provide weekly progress reports for the inspection team.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, or a related field
• 4+ years of experience in quality or manufacturing
• Experience with quality management standard practices
• Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
• Experience creating FMEAs and control plans
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)
• Automotive OEM or Tier 1 supplier experience
• Process improvement certification, such as Lean Six Sigma or Shainin
• Knowledge of CMM programming, IPC/WHMA-A-620, and ESD best practices
