Job summary

HireArt is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Technician to support preventive maintenance, calibration, and quality control of electromechanical test equipment used in autonomous vehicle systems. You will coordinate with internal teams and external vendors, perform IQC/IPQC/OQC inspections, and ensure compliance with internal procedures. The role is onsite in Fremont, CA, with travel to Foster City as needed. HireArt expects 6+ years in QA within automated production environments.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 6+ years of progressive quality assurance experience in a fully or semi-automated serialized production environment.
  • Proficiency with quality control tools, SAP or Oracle ERP systems, and Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
  • Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the asset intake process for equipment and tools, collecting and validating required information and providing complete documentation for SAP records.
  • Plan and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance with internal technicians and external vendors, including work scope, scheduling, parts availability, purchase orders, service completion, and repairs.
  • Manage production-line tools through issuance, inspection, functional and torque checks, calibration, status tracking, and repair coordination, quarantining damaged, overdue, or out-of-tolerance tools as needed.
  • Monitor asset reliability and compliance metrics and support corrective actions for equipment breakdowns and out-of-tolerance tools, including impact assessments, root cause analysis, CAPA development, and effectiveness verification.
  • Perform Incoming (IQC), In-Process (IPQC), and Outgoing Quality Control (OQC) inspections, documenting results, identifying nonconformances, and verifying materials and products meet applicable specifications and release criteria.
  • Support Quality Engineers with quality alerts, containment actions, nonconformance documentation, and MRB disposition activities to prevent suspect materials or products from advancing through production.
  • Prepare and maintain quality documentation, including PSW/PPAP submissions, inspection records, balloon drawings, and supporting records within the quality management system.
  • Support quality audits and process reviews of PCU and Sensor Pod assembly lines by gathering data, preparing evidence, and helping drive audit findings to closure.
  • Commute between Fremont and Foster City locations as needed to support maintenance, calibration, inspection, and quality activities.

Job description

Expected compensation: 53.33 USD Per Hour

HireArt is helping an on-demand, autonomous ride-hailing company find a Quality Technician to support the preventive maintenance, calibration, and quality control of tools, equipment, and testers used to build, test, and troubleshoot complex software-controlled electromechanical systems for autonomous vehicles.

In this role, you’ll coordinate preventive maintenance and calibration activities with internal teams and external vendors, ensuring equipment and tools remain compliant with industry standards and internal procedures. You’ll also support production quality through incoming, in-process, and outgoing inspections, nonconformance management, containment activities, and quality audits.

The ideal candidate is an experienced and detail-oriented quality professional with a strong background in complex electromechanical production environments. You’re highly organized, comfortable coordinating maintenance and calibration activities, and skilled at identifying quality issues, maintaining accurate documentation, and collaborating with technicians and engineers to drive resolution.

As a Quality Technician, You'll

Requirements

  • Proficiency with quality control tools, SAP or Oracle ERP systems, and Microsoft Office or Google Workspace

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines effectively
Bonus Qualifications
  • Experience with compute, LiDAR, camera, or sensor assembly inspection
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or ISO 13485 standards
