Job summary

Ingersoll Rand in Charlotte, NC seeks a proactive Quality Engineer to own manufacturing quality on the floor, partner with Engineering and Operations, and drive corrective actions from concept through implementation.

You will strengthen quality systems, investigate customer and supplier quality issues, and contribute to PFMEA, control plans, PPAP, and continuous improvement initiatives while advancing your career within a global leader.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, mechanical preferred.
• 3+ years in engineering or quality engineering roles, hands-on.
• 3+ years investigating product, supplier, or internal quality issues with root cause analysis.
• 3+ years experience with quality processes and continuous improvement (PPAP, PFMEA, 8D, etc.).
• Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUP and macros, with Smartsheet workflows.

Responsibilities

• Drive process and quality improvements to strengthen product reliability.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing and quality documentation.
• Implement quality management systems and ISO procedures.
• Investigate and resolve internal and customer quality issues, identifying root causes.
• Manage supplier quality issues and corrective actions.
• Develop quality reports and metrics to monitor supplier and internal quality.
• Partner with Engineering, Customer Service, Sales and customers on design reviews and audits.
• Support employee training and quality awareness.
