Job summary

Ingersoll Rand in Charlotte, NC is hiring a Quality Technician I to support production quality through inspection, calibration, and data-driven problem solving. You will perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspections and participate in root cause analysis using 8D methods.

Role requires blueprint reading, calibrations, and strong measuring skills. Ideal candidates have 2+ years in manufacturing, experience with calipers, micrometers, and optical comparators, and a familiarity with ISO

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; trade certification preferred.
• 2+ years in manufacturing environment with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic equipment.
• Experience reading blueprints and technical docs; root cause analysis experience.
• Ability to operate in fast-paced environment and lift up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Improve standards and methods for inspection and testing of materials.
• Perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspections per drawings and procedures.
• Lead or participate in 8D or similar problem-solving methodologies.
• Set up calibrated equipment and follow calibration procedures to validate conformance.
• Investigate/troubleshoot customer complaints; maintain records and documentation.
• Dispositions material and coordinate with suppliers and purchasing teams.
• Provide tactical quality support to operations and assist training when needed.
• Recommend EH&S and quality improvement practices, knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and ERP systems.
