Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Quality Engineer for metal fabrication in Tracy, CA. You will lead quality initiatives in a precision manufacturing setting, ensuring conformance to drawings, GD&T, and ISO 9001:2015 standards.

This on-site, permanent role requires hands-on leadership, root-cause analysis, and the ability to drive corrective actions with production teams. You'll manage customer and supplier quality, develop CAPAs, and maintain QA systems to support continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in manufacturing quality, ideally leading a quality function or team in a precision environment.
• ISO 9001:2015 expertise with QMS maintenance, audits, CAPA and continuous improvement.
• Experience in precision sheet-metal or metal fabrication including CNC machining, laser cutting, punching, forming, welding, assembly or finishing.
• Blueprint reading and GD&T, including engineering drawings, dimensional inspection and measurement equipment.
• Root cause analysis and corrective action (8D, 5 Whys, fishbone, CAPA, nonconformance reports, preventive actions).
• Customer and supplier quality management, handling complaints, supplier defects, first-article inspections, corrective-action requests.
• Leadership and floor presence, coaching inspectors and resolving problems without disrupting manufacturing.

Must-have qualifications

• 5+ years in manufacturing quality, ideally with experience managing a quality function or leading a quality team in a precision manufacturing environment.
• ISO 9001:2015 expertise, including maintaining a quality management system, preparing for audits, managing corrective actions and driving continuous improvement.
• Precision sheet-metal or metal fabrication experience, including CNC machining, laser cutting, punching, forming, welding, assembly or finishing.
• Blueprint reading and GD&T, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, engineering drawings, dimensional inspection and measurement equipment.
• Root cause analysis and corrective action, including 8D, 5 Whys, fishbone analysis, CAPA, nonconformance reports and preventive actions.
• Customer and supplier quality management, including handling customer complaints, supplier defects, first-article inspections and corrective-action requests.
• Leadership and floor presence, with the ability to coach inspectors, work directly with production, and resolve quality problems without unnecessarily disrupting manufacturing.
