Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Quality Inspector in Chatsworth, CA to perform dimensional and visual inspections on aerospace-grade components on-site. The role supports AS9100/ISO standards, FAI/AS9102 activities, and continuous improvement efforts.

The position offers day or swing shifts with a $2.00 differential, permanent status, and comprehensive benefits. Prior aerospace inspection experience and GD&T knowledge are essential for success at Jobot.

Qualifications

• Experience in aerospace, precision machining, or manufacturing quality.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and blueprints with GD&T proficiency.
• Working knowledge of AS9100 quality systems and inspection methods.

Responsibilities

• Perform dimensional and visual inspections on raw materials, in-process parts, and finished components using precision instruments.
• Interpret drawings per ASME Y14.5 GD&T requirements and verify conformance to AS9100, ISO, and customer standards.
• Complete inspection records, traceability docs, range forms, and FAIRs; support FAI and AS9102 activities.
• Identify nonconforming conditions; collaborate on containment and corrective actions; participate in CAPA and improvements.
• Mentor junior inspectors and assist with audits, customer visits, and quality-system compliance.

What You’ll Do

• Perform dimensional and visual inspections on raw materials, in-process parts, and finished components using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, height gauges, optical comparators, and related precision instruments
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications per ASME Y14.5 GD&T requirements
• Verify product conformity to AS9100, ISO, customer, and regulatory quality standards
• Complete inspection records, traceability documentation, range forms, and FAIRs
• Support First Article Inspection (FAI) and AS9102 documentation activities
• Identify and document nonconforming conditions; collaborate with Production and Engineering on containment and corrective action
• Participate in root cause analysis, CAPA, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Support audits, customer visits, and quality system compliance activities
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior inspectors as needed

What You Bring

• Quality inspection experience in aerospace, precision machining, or manufacturing
• Ability to read engineering drawings and blueprints with GD&T proficiency
• Working knowledge of AS9100
• Experience with a range of inspection devices including height gauges, surface plates, bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, etc.
• Experience in dimensional inspection, receiving inspection, visual inspection, and/or first article
