Job summary

Jobot, based in Minden, NV, is seeking a Quality Engineer to develop and maintain ISO 9001 compliant systems and drive continuous improvement across manufacturing operations. You will lead quality audits, implement control plans, and mentor teams in quality tools to reduce COPQ and improve product conformance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Industrial Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum 3+ years of Quality Engineering or Process Engineering in manufacturing.
• Strong experience with ISO 9001 quality systems, auditing, and compliance standards.
• Experience creating and maintaining FMEA, Control Plans, SPC, CAPA, and quality documentation.
• Hands-on experience with root cause analysis and corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain ISO 9001-compliant QMS.
• Create and maintain Control Plans, FMEA, inspection criteria, and quality procedures.
• Support internal and external quality audits, including customer and ISO requirements.
• Develop and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and inspection documentation.
• Lead Six Sigma, DMAIC, and root cause analysis initiatives.
• Track, analyze, and report quality KPIs and trends.
• Partner with Engineering and Production to ensure process and product compliance.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Develop, implement, and maintain ISO 9001-compliant Quality Management Systems (QMS)
• Create and maintain Control Plans, FMEA documentation, inspection criteria, and quality procedures
• Support internal and external quality audits, including customer and ISO requirements
• Develop and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and inspection documentation
• Conduct First Article Inspections (FAI), Process Capability Studies, and Gage R&R studies
• Lead quality improvement initiatives utilizing Six Sigma, DMAIC, and Root Cause Analysis methodologies
• Analyze and reduce Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ), including scrap, rework, defects, and warranty issues
• Establish and monitor Critical to Quality (CTQ) process metrics
• Facilitate cross-functional corrective and preventive action programs
• Implement structured problem-solving methodologies including 8D, 5 Why, and Fishbone Analysis
• Track, analyze, and report quality KPIs and performance trends
• Partner with Engineering and Production teams to ensure process and product compliance
• Serve as a liaison between customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders regarding quality concerns
• Train and mentor employees on quality tools, inspection methods, and continuous improvement practices
• Promote a culture of operational excellence and quality throughout the organization

Qualifications Needed:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Industrial Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Minimum 3+ years of Quality Engineering or Process Engineering experience within a manufacturing environment
• Strong experience with ISO 9001 quality systems, auditing, and compliance standards
• Experience creating and maintaining FMEA, Control Plans, SPC, CAPA, and quality documentation
• Hands-on experience conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions
• Strong background in manufacturing processes such as assembly, fabrication, powder coating, and paint operations
• Experience working with continuous improvement methodologies including Six Sigma, DMAIC, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and 5S
• Proven ability to analyze quality metrics and drive measurable process improvements
• Experience conducting First Article Inspections (FAI), Process Capability Studies, and Gage R&R studies
• Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP, Epicor, Plex, or similar manufacturing platforms preferred
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Minitab, or other statistical analysis tools
• Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred
