Job summary

The Dixon Group in Chestertown, MD is seeking a Quality Engineer to lead root cause analysis and drive continuous improvement in the Boss Division. You will manage inspection systems, develop quality standards, and mentor shop floor personnel on measurement and quality practices.

Candidates should have a engineering degree with quality experience, proficiency in SPC tools, and strong problem-solving skills to sustain 100% customer satisfaction and adherence to specifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related science.
• Greenbelt certification and ASQ certification preferred.
• Experience with quality systems and measurement procedures.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain quality standards for the Boss Division.
• Lead cross-functional investigations into non-conformances.
• Apply 5-Why, Fishbone, or 8D to identify root causes and corrective actions.
• Manage Lean/Six Sigma projects to reduce scrap and variances.
• Monitor KPIs and report on quality performance.
• Create and control SOPs and standard work documents.
• Conduct internal audits and drive continuous improvement.
• Communicate nonconformances to suppliers and production teams.
• Inspect incoming materials, in-process, and finished goods.
• Issue corrective actions and manage containment.
• Manage production gauges and calibration.
• Educate and train floor personnel on quality practices.
