Job summary

The Dixon Group, based in Chestertown, MD, is seeking a Production Manager to lead daily manufacturing operations and translate demand into structured production schedules. You will oversee staffing, training, and continuous improvement initiatives, coordinating with maintenance, engineering, supply chain, EHS, and HR to meet SQDCC goals and deliver value to customers.

Qualifications

• Experience leading manufacturing teams in fast-paced environments.
• Strong knowledge of production planning, scheduling, and workforce management.
• Proven ability to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily manufacturing floor operations and execution of the Dixon Production System (DPS).
• Develop production schedules, assign work, and hold supervisors accountable for meeting targets safely and efficiently.
• Manage staffing levels, labor allocation, attendance, and workforce performance.
• Maintain production boards and monitor status, capacity, and order flow.
• Partner with Supply Chain, Purchasing, Maintenance, Engineering, and EHS to minimize downtime.
• Lead daily tier meetings and drive improvements focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
• Monitor KPIs including throughput, schedule adherence, labor efficiency, scrap rates, and safety metrics.
• Support employee development through onboarding, training, cross-training, coaching, and performance management.
• Drive problem-solving and corrective actions to remove bottlenecks.
• Participate in recruiting, employee relations, and succession planning.
