Job summary

The Dixon Group, based in Chestertown, Maryland, seeks a Production Manager to lead daily manufacturing operations, plan production schedules, and drive improvements across safety, quality, delivery, cost, and culture. Team leadership includes staffing, coaching, and KPI management to meet demanding targets.

Responsibilities include coordinating with maintenance, engineering, supply chain, and EHS to minimize downtime and deliver outstanding customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• 5+ years of manufacturing leadership experience.
• 10+ years in manufacturing and production.
• Strong knowledge of production planning, scheduling, and workforce management.
• Experience leading supervisors and production teams in a fast-paced setting.
• Proven ability to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
• Experience with production metrics, KPIs, and performance management systems.
• Ability to collaborate across departments and levels.
• Lean Manufacturing, 5S or similar systems experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily manufacturing floor operations and DPS execution.
• Develop production schedules, assign work, and meet targets safely and efficiently.
• Manage staffing, attendance, and workforce performance.
• Maintain production boards and monitor status, capacity, and flow.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Maintenance, Engineering and EHS to minimize downtime.
• Lead daily tier meetings and drive continuous improvement on SQDCC metrics.
• Monitor KPIs like throughput, schedule adherence, labor efficiency, scrap, and safety.
• Support onboarding, training, coaching, and performance management.
• Drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions to remove bottlenecks.
• Participate in recruiting, employee relations, and succession planning.
