Job summary

Regal Rexnord in Downers Grove, IL is seeking a Quality Engineer to support the quality program and daily QA activities. The role focuses on data-driven improvements, nonconforming material dispositions, and developing a Quality roadmap for aerospace manufacturing.

The successful candidate will have 3+ years in Aerospace/Automotive QA, a BS in Mechanical Engineering, and strong proficiency with PPAP/APQP, SP C, and measurement systems. Up to 10% travel is expected.

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
• 3+ years of Quality Experience in the Aerospace or Automotive industry
• 10% travel
• Experience with quality systems (AS9100, ISO9001, FAA regulations)
• Ability to collect, compile, and analyze data to determine root cause and corrective action
• Advanced proficiency in Word, Excel & PowerPoint
• Proficiency in PPAP and APQP tools (SPC, GR&R, DOE, FMEA, Control Plans, Cpk, GD&T, DMAIC, FAI)
• Demonstrated success multitasking
• Strong writing/administrative skills (computer skills)
• Proven time and project management
• Customer satisfaction history
• Background in metal manufacturing and metrology
• Knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawings
• Experience in lean or continuous improvement environments
• ASQ CQE desirable

Responsibilities

• Use data-driven problem solving to improve key quality metrics.
• Review nonconforming product and determine dispositions.
• Support shop floor with inspection plans, gauge R&R and capability studies.
• Develop and implement a Quality roadmap to meet company objectives.
• Foster a culture of quality at the source and accountability for work quality.
• Qualify new equipment, process, and product introductions using NPD methodologies for aerospace.
• Identify and drive continuous improvement at the facility and supplier locations.
• Maintain AS9100 certifications and NADCAP processes.
• Apply lean tools and DMAIC for problem solving and performance gains
