SGS Consulting in Iowa City is seeking a Quality Engineer to drive quality planning and improvement across product development, manufacturing engineering, and supplier interfaces.

You will apply quality tools within the EPDP and EOFP, review warranty data, lead corrective actions, audits, and non-conforming reviews on the shop floor. A 4-year engineering degree or equivalent is required, with 1–3 years of relevant experience preferred.

Qualificações

• 1-3 years' work experience as a Quality Engineer; recent engineering grads considered.
• Strong Root Cause Analysis and 8D corrective action skills.
• Experience on production floor.
• Understanding of mistake-proofing techniques.
• Knowledge of control plans and PFMEAs.
• Experience with manufacturing statistical methods (control charts, capability analysis).

Responsabilidades

• Provide quality planning, control, and improvement support for product development teams.
• Apply quality tools within EPDP and EOFP processes.
• Support application of quality tools with key suppliers.
• Review warranty information, prioritize manufacturing issues, create evidence packages and apply problem resolution techniques.
• Review Defects Per Unit Daily reports for q-notes and resolutions.
• Review daily quality metrics to determine if there are questions from our wage force.
• Contain known issues found during inspection.
• Create Temporary Deviations per the JDDMW Work Instruction.
• Create Change Notices and send to shop floor inspectors.
• Facilitate RCAs & NCCAs.
• Attend Final Product Audit Review and Audit Disposition.
• Lead Corrective Action on items found in Audit Disposition.
• Lead and Facilitate daily non-conforming review.
• Monitor Zone DPU through SPC and investigate out of control conditions.
• Assure control plan execution, update as required.
