Job summary

Materion Corporation in Elmore, Ohio is seeking a Quality Engineer I to join the Quality team. You will help drive strong quality systems, resolve customer issues, and collaborate with customers to improve outcomes in a metals/materials environment.

The role requires a science/technical bachelor’s degree, knowledge of quality management systems, and ETQ experience. Travel up to 25–50% may be required in the first 6 months. Competitive pay and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or technical field is required.
• Metallurgy degree preferred.
• 3+ years in metals/materials production or laboratory environment preferred.
• General knowledge of systematic quality management systems is required.
• ETQ experience is required.
• Demonstrated ability to complete tasks on time is required.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Suite.
• Effective communicator for groups of customers and employees.
• Ability to train.
• Solution oriented.
• Language: English.
• Preferred travel: 25–50% within the first 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Identify and collaborate on customer issues using root cause analysis to determine causes and improvements.
• Support quality standards (ISO9001, AS9100D, ISO17025) through audits, documentation, and calibration activities.
• Collaborate with peers to ensure alignment across teams.
• Participate in site-wide teams and projects to drive efficiency and yield improvements.
