Job summary

Lockheed Martin in the United States is seeking a Quality Engineer to ensure design, manufacture, and supplier processes meet contractual requirements. You will apply QA methods across electro-mechanical assemblies and contribute to continuous improvement.

This role requires Root Cause Analysis, FAI experience, and the ability to interface with program management, engineering, and customers to drive quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or equivalent experience/combined education.
• Quality Engineering skills as related to electro-mechanical assembly operations including the ability to interpret engineering drawing/build instruction/procedure and develop inspection processes.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawing/build instruction/process procedures and develop inspection processes and methodologies and determine product compliance.
• Knowledge in performing Root Cause Analysis and identification of corrective actions using structured methods (e.g., DUO, FTA, Fishbone, DOE).
• Experience performing audits, and participating in third party/customer audits.
• Experience in performing First Article Inspection (FAIs).
• Use of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to obtain a secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Identify root causes and corrective actions for program activities with engineering and production counterparts.
• Evaluate production nonconforming hardware and analyze defect data to identify systemic issues and trends.
• Provide inputs to the Production QA on product QA tasks and labor estimates on ECPs and ongoing proposals.
• Verify systems are 100% compliant to requirements and present systems to customers for acceptance.
• Support roll-out of advanced manufacturing, including Additive Manufacturing and Lean practices.
• Conduct data validation, statistical analysis, and presentation of Quality metrics as part of the QMS.
• Conduct process audits in accordance with AS9100.

THE WORK

• Identify root causes and associated corrective actions, evaluate process/product performance, and participate/interface with the engineering and production counterparts on program activities to assure processes and products are compliant to contractual requirements and proactive actions taken to prevent recurrence.

• Conduct process audits in accordance with internal processes and AS9100 standard

STANDARD JOB DESCRIPTION

Applies quality principles in the areas of: design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation, program performance, reliability, inventory control, and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality for make and/or buy products. Performs technical evaluations including product requirements, specifications, models/designs, drawings and procedures. Collaborates with program management, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain and customers on quality related issues to ensure quality standards are in place. Engages in product failure investigations, material review board decisions and corrective/preventive action. Ensures corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and/or are compliant with requirements. Develops strategies and systems designed to improve internal and/or supplier performance and productivity. Evaluates quality systems for deficiency identification and correction. Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducts product quality tests, performs statistical analysis to assess products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications. Engages in supplier selection process and maintain certification programs.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $70500.00 - $130900.00
