Job summary

Lockheed Martin is seeking a Quality Engineer to support design, incoming material, production control, and supplier quality across programs. You will drive quality across manufacturing, perform product and process inspections, and collaborate with program management, engineering, and customers to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, strong root-cause analysis, FAI and DoD experience, and proficiency with MS Office.

Qualifications

• Quality engineering skills for electro-mechanical assembly and inspection process development.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and procedures to ensure product compliance.
• Experience with root cause analysis using structured methods (DOE, FTA, Fishbone).
• Experience performing audits (internal and customer) and First Article Inspections (FAIs).
• Proficiency with MS Office tools and ability to obtain a secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Identify root causes and corrective actions to ensure processes and products meet contractual requirements.
• Evaluate and disposition production nonconforming hardware and analyze defect data for trends.
• Provide inputs to Production QA for tasks, ECPs, and proposals.
• Verify systems are compliant and present results to customer representatives.
• Support advanced manufacturing initiatives including Additive Manufacturing and Lean methods.
• Conduct data validation and statistical analysis of QA metrics for the QMS.
• Perform process audits per internal processes and AS9100 standards.

THE WORK

• Identify root causes and associated corrective actions, evaluate process/product performance, and participate/interface with the engineering and production counterparts on program activities to assure processes and products are compliant to contractual requirements and proactive actions taken to prevent recurrence.
• Ability to evaluate and disposition production nonconforming hardware and analyze defect data to identify systemic issues and trends
• Provide inputs to the Production QPM on product QA tasking, as required, to ensure sound labor estimates on ECPs and on-going proposal efforts
• Ability to verify systems are 100% compliant to the requirements and to present systems to customer representative(s) for acceptance
• Support, participate and execute strategies related to the roll-out of advanced manufacturing. This includes Additive Manufacturing, Rapid Prototyping, Lean Manufacturing, etc.)
• Conduct data validation, statistical data analysis, and presentation of Quality metrics as part of the QMS for manufacturing
• Conduct process audits in accordance with internal processes and AS9100 standard

Standard Job Description

Applies quality principles in the areas of: design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation, program performance, reliability, inventory control, and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality for make and/or buy products. Performs technical evaluations including product requirements, specifications, models/designs, drawings and procedures. Collaborates with program management, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain and customers on quality related issues to ensure quality standards are in place. Engages in product failure investigations, material review board decisions and corrective/preventive action. Ensures corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and/or are compliant with requirements. Develops strategies and systems designed to improve internal and/or supplier performance and productivity. Evaluates quality systems for deficiency identification and correction. Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducts product quality tests, performs statistical analysis to assess products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications. Engages in supplier selection process and maintain certification programs.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or equivalent experience/combined education.
• Quality Engineering skills as related to electro-mechanical assembly operations including the ability to interpret engineering drawing/build instruction/process procedures and develop inspection processes and methodologies and determine product compliance.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawing/build instruction/process procedures and develop inspection processes and methodologies and determine product compliance.
• Knowledge in performing Root Cause Analysis and identification of corrective actions using structured methods, such as DUO, Fault Tree Analysis, Fishbone Diagrams, DOE, etc.
• Experience performing audits, and participating in third party/customer audits
• Experience in performing First Article Inspection (FAIs)
• Use of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Ability to obtain a secret clearance.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $70500.00 - $130900.00
