Job summary

Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control seeks a Quality Engineer to drive product excellence across the supply chain. You will develop inspection plans, analyze root causes, and work with suppliers to improve quality while ensuring documentation and compliance with aerospace standards.

You will support cross-functional teams with data-driven metrics and reporting, and the role requires a STEM degree with 1+ year experience and the ability to obtain a secret clearance as a US citizen.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 1+ year of experience; or STEM master's with equivalent education and experience.
  • Ability to obtain a secret clearance within a year; US citizenship required.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills; experience with data-driven quality metrics helpful.

Job description

Standard Job DescriptionApplies quality principles in the areas of: design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation, program performance, reliability, inventory control, and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality for make and/or buy products. Performs technical evaluations including product requirements, specifications, models/designs, drawings and procedures. Collaborates with program management, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain and customers on quality related issues to ensure quality standards are in place. Engages in product failure investigations, material review board decisions and corrective/preventive action. Ensures corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and/or are compliant with requirements. Develops strategies and systems designed to improve internal and/or supplier performance and productivity. Evaluates quality systems for deficiency identification and correction. Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducts product quality tests, performs statistical analysis to assess products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications. Engages in supplier selection process and maintain certification programs.

You will be the Quality Engineer for the Quality Engineering team. Our team is responsible for ensuring the highest quality of manufactured and procured products within Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control.
What You Will Be Doing

As the Quality Engineer you will be responsible for driving product excellence across the supply chain.

Your Responsibilities Will Include, But Are Not Limited To

  • Maintain and improve quality documentation and compliance with aerospace standards.
  • Support cross‑functional teams with data‑driven quality metrics and reporting.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in a STEM related field with 1+ years of experience , no experience required with a STEM Masters degree or equivalent combined education and experience.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player.
  • Proficiency in relevant computer applications.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a secret clearance within a year of starting, therefore all candidates need to be US Citizens.
Desired Skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of MES systems
  • Working knowledge of GD&T, FMEAs, and Root Cause and Corrective Action processes.
  • Experience in Six-Sigma green belt techniques and statistical process control methods.
  • Discrete and/or Micro-electronics experience.
  • J-STD-001/IPC-A-610 familiarization.
  • ASQ CQE.
Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $79300.00 - $147300.00

PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
