Job summary

General Motors Bowling Green Assembly is seeking a Quality Engineer to join the Bowling Green Quality Engineering Team. You will apply engineering judgment to improve quality across Chassis, Body, Exterior, Interior, and Propulsion areas, working within a plant environment to ensure low defects and high customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree (preferred in Engineering or related technical field)
• 2 years of experience in automotive engineering, quality, manufacturing or related
• Ability to Read drawings, understand GD&T, and work with 3D Visualization Software
• Understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC) or Statistical Data Analysis
• Strong critical thinking, independent judgement, and interpersonal skills
• Effective communicator with solid oral and written presentation skills
• Must be flexible to occasionally rotate from 1st to 2nd shift

Responsibilities

• Independent Judgement and prioritization of daily project requests
• Review nonconforming parts and root cause analysis
• Develop quality standards and procedures
• Analyze data to support decisions and actions
• Lead corrective actions and supplier quality improvements
• Support launches of new products in the plant
• Coordinate periodic audits at plant and supplier facilities
• Assist production with preventing defects and process improvements
