Job summary

Leidos Defense Systems – Colorado Manufacturing Facility in Colorado Springs is seeking a Quality Engineer to ensure machined components meet strict quality standards per drawings and procedures. You will support documentation, troubleshooting, and non-conformance tracking to impact performance and reliability of defense systems.

The role requires strong attention to detail, self-direction and teamwork in a fast-paced environment, with potential for collaboration across engineering and programs

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of experience or Master’s with 2+ years.
• Experience with Zeiss GOM blue light scanning and evaluation.
• Experience with non-conforming material, root cause and corrective actions.
• Experience writing QMS documentation for AS9100.
• Ability to read blueprints and AS9102 First Article Inspection documentation.

Responsibilities

• Support manufacturing, assembly, integration and testing for aerospace and defense manufacturing.
• Develop inspection/test procedures and process plans; review nonconformance documentation and support root cause/corrective action.
• Review and approve drawings and process plans.
• Perform quality inspections of components, subassemblies and completed assemblies.
• Document nonconforming materials and coordinate MRB disposition.
• Support collection of Quality Metrics and corrective actions.
• Lead process improvement initiatives and internal audits.
• Ensure adherence to AS9100 and regulatory requirements.
