Job summary

L3Harris is seeking a Specialist, Quality Engineer to support the Advanced Manufacturing Facility (AMF‑North) in Toney, Alabama, an inert manufacturing site for composite rocket motor hardware. The Specialist coordinates quality initiatives, develops metrics, dashboards, and reports, and collaborates across Centers of Excellence to ensure product compliance and drive process improvements.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years of related quality or engineering experience; OR Graduate Degree with 0–2 years of related experience; OR in lieu of a degree, 6 years of quality or manufacturing experience.

Responsibilities

Communicate with internal teams and customer counterparts to ensure hardware meets specifications.
Manage and communicate deviations and nonconformances across the organization; understand aerospace processes like machining, welding, and nondestructive testing.
Apply quality principles, Lean and Six Sigma tools to support manufacturing operations.
Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards to ensure compliance.
Prepare analyses, procedures, reports, and presentations for internal and customer review; verify supplier data for completeness.
Interface with MRB to provide input for nonconformance dispositions.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance.
