Job summary

Pratt & Whitney is building an Advanced Casting Foundry in Asheville, NC, seeking a Quality Engineer to lead quality controls across the production lifecycle. You will develop and implement plans, conduct root cause analyses, and drive continuous improvements to minimize defects and prevent escapes.

The role requires expertise in AS9100/ISO 9001, DMAIC/Lean, and quality tools, with leadership in manufacturing quality initiatives and strong financial acumen.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience with 8+ years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with 5+ years of related work.
• Demonstrated leadership and management experience.
• Knowledgeable in AS9100 / ISO 9001 Quality systems.
• Proficient with quality tools such as FAI, PFMEA, DFMEA, GR&R, and GD&T.
• Experience in root cause corrective action and eliminating non-conformances.
• Practical DMAIC, CORE, Six Sigma or Lean Systems experience.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements quality signature improvement strategies and systemic controls with Manufacturing Engineering.
• Leadership role in PRTs and technical investigations.
• Analyze and present complex data to support quality improvements.
• Identify and implement required QMS improvements for the new internal product line.
• Lead activities to expand FAA & AS9100 scope and maintain compliance.
• Show strong commercial and financial awareness and understand defect impact on business.
• Lead process improvement opportunities to enhance quality and reduce costs.
• Provide technical expertise on non-conforming material and support MRB process.
• Define and implement plans supporting business objectives across quality, CORE, and financial metrics.
• Communicate effectively to align as a leadership figure within Quality and ACF.
