Job summary

Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indiana is seeking a Quality Engineer to analyze Voice of Customer data, investigate concerns, and implement effective resolutions to improve customer satisfaction and meet regulatory and export requirements.

The role reports to the Customer Quality Engineering Manager and collaborates with internal teams, suppliers, and design partners to drive quality improvements across the plant and pre-delivery processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or applied engineering.
  • Proficiency in Excel, SharePoint, and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with data-driven problem solving to identify root causes.
  • Minimum 3 years in a manufacturing quality environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support plant warranty targets through issue investigation and resolution.
  • Lead quality issue investigations, including complex, chronic, and early-life concerns.
  • Coordinate pre-delivery confirmation activities for TMMI vehicles.
  • Analyze JD Power and other surveys to identify trends and drive countermeasures.
  • Serve as TMMI Quality Engineering lead for supplier parts quality systems.
  • Partner with data science teams to deliver quality insights.
  • Support warranty invoicing and chargeback documentation.

Who we’re looking for

Toyota’s Quality Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Quality Engineer.

The primary responsibility of this role is to improve customer satisfaction by analyzing Voice of Customer data, investigating concerns, and making effective resolutions.

Reporting to the Customer Quality Engineering Manager, this role supports the Quality department’s commitment to delivering high-quality vehicles that meet customer expectations, federal regulations, and export market requirements.

What you’ll be doing
  • Support plant warranty targets through issue investigation and resolution.
  • Lead quality issue investigations, including complex, chronic, and early-life (0-12 Months in Service) concerns.
  • Coordinate pre-delivery confirmation activities for Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indiana (TMMI) vehicles, including documentation, vehicle tracking, travel coordination, port support, work instruction development, and results reporting.
  • Analyze JD Power and other customer survey data to identify trends, improve customer satisfaction, and drive countermeasures with internal teams, suppliers, and design partners.
  • Serve as the TMMI Quality Engineering lead for supplier parts quality systems.
  • Partner with Toyota’s data science teams to leverage enterprise platforms, standards, and best practices to deliver insights and quality improvements.
  • Support warranty invoicing, and chargeback documentation for TMMI vehicles.
What you bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology or applied engineering.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel, SharePoint, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience using data-driven problem-solving and investigative techniques to identify root causes and implement countermeasures.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing quality environment.
Added bonus if you have
  • Experience with Power BI, Power Apps, or similar data visualization and automation tools.
  • Automotive manufacturing or quality experience.
  • Experience with design drawing programs such as CAD, Catia.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements and experience supporting compliance efforts.
  • Knowledge of FMVSS, CMVSS, and ECE regulations.
