Job summary

Toyota Deutschland GmbH is seeking a Senior Engineer to lead Automation & Innovation within the Assembly Internal Logistics Shops. You will plan and execute engineering initiatives, drive improvements, and support automation projects across the shops.

The role requires a bachelor’s in engineering, manufacturing experience, CAD/layout skills, and the ability to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally. Weekend/holiday shifts and driving are anticipated as needed.

  • Experience in manufacturing and CAD mapping.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25%.
  • Proficiency in analyzing contractor 2D drawings and applying layouts.

  • Plan and execute as Engineering lead for Automation & Innovation Team in Assembly Internal Logistics.
  • Assist with budget planning for automation projects.
  • Develop detailed planning timelines for 3–5 year automation projects.
  • Complete risk assessments and Kanban process for new systems.
  • Drive kaizen improvements in current delivery systems for Assembly IL shops.

Who we’re looking for

Toyota’sPC - Internal LogisticsDepartment is looking for a passionate and highly motivatedSenior Engineer.

The primary responsibility of this role is to plan and execute as the Engineering lead for the Automation & Innovation Team within the Assembly Internal Logistics Shops.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, the person in this role will support the Assembly Internal Logistics Shops department's objective to safely implement automation within the Assembly shops.

What you’ll be doing
  • Assist with budget planning for automation projects
  • Developing detailed planning timelines for 3-to-5-year automation projects
  • Completing Risk Assessments and Kanban process for new system implementations
  • Using a kaizen mindset to improve current delivery systems with the Assembly IL shops
  • Analyzing future opportunities for automation and innovation by conducting lead time studies for assets required
What you bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, engineering technology, or applied engineering
  • Experience in manufacturing
  • Experience with mapping and layouts using CAD
  • Proficiency in analyzing contractor 2D drawings and implementing into shop floor layouts
  • Project management skills
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25%
  • Ability to work weekends, holiday shutdown work, and confirmation support to allow smooth restart of production as needed
  • This position requires driving. A motor vehicle record that’s acceptable by company standards is required for this position
