Job summary

Freudenberg Group in the United States seeks a Quality Engineer to oversee plant quality functions, coordinate APQP and PPAP activities, and contribute to the review of the Production Tooling Progress Report. You will maintain control plans, work instructions, and quality procedures; prepare PPAP samples; support IATF 16949 compliance; and serve as a liaison with suppliers to resolve quality issues.

• 3+ years of Quality Engineering experience in an automotive manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of AIAG Core Tools including APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, and SPC.
• Working knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and customer-specific automotive requirements.
• Experience with root cause analysis and problem-solving methodologies (8D, 5 Why, Fishbone).
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across production, engineering, suppliers, and customers.

Responsibilities:

• Supervises plant quality functions; coordinates APQP functions. Participates in APQP meetings and coordinates the review of the Production Tooling Progress Report.
• Creates / assists in implementing and maintaining control plans, work/inspection instructions, local procedures, visual aids/samples.
• Prepares sample submissions for PPAP Packages; supervises the retention of PPAP samples.
• Assists in maintaining IATF-16949 certification and meeting customer quality requirements.
• Acts as Quality Department liaison with the supplier to investigate quality problems and as a resource to the supplier pertaining to product quality.
• Assists in problem solving activities, both internal and customer-initiated and design and implement corrective actions, both with customers and suppliers, and follow these programs to prevent recurrence.
• Develops and implements corrective actions (8-D) for internal quality and delivery problems. Works with manufacturing personnel to effectively implement corrective/preventive actions and to verify effectiveness of those actions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field or combination of education and experience.
