Job summary

Freudenberg Group in the United States seeks a Quality Engineer to oversee plant quality functions, coordinate APQP and PPAP activities, and contribute to the review of the Production Tooling Progress Report. You will maintain control plans, work instructions, and quality procedures; prepare PPAP samples; support IATF 16949 compliance; and serve as a liaison with suppliers to resolve quality issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field.
• 3+ years of Quality Engineering experience in an automotive manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of AIAG Core Tools including APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, and SPC.
• Working knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and customer-specific automotive requirements.
• Experience with root cause analysis and problem-solving methodologies (8D, 5 Why, Fishbone).
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across production, engineering, suppliers, and customers.

Responsibilities

• Supervises plant quality functions; coordinates APQP functions.
• Prepares PPAP samples and helps review Production Tooling Progress Report.
• Implements and maintains control plans, work/inspection instructions, and local procedures.
• Maintains PPAP sample retention and PPAP packages.
• Assists in maintaining IATF 16949 certification and meeting customer requirements.
• Acts as liaison with suppliers to investigate quality problems and support corrective actions.
• Leads 8D, 5 Why, and Fishbone-based problem solving and corrective actions.
• Supports verification of effectiveness of corrective actions in manufacturing.
