Job Purpose

The Quality Engineer performs activities that ensure customer contractual compliance, continual quality improvements to products, services, and systems; and corporate compliance to ISO9001/AS9100. Activities are focused around assembling, analyzing and monitoring data for trends, events, and opportunities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Technical unbiased voice to and from the customer regarding Quality matters and expectations
  • Responsible for FAI, customer and government source inspections
  • Creating product and process quality plans
  • Determines the controls on production devices directly affecting the quality of the product
  • Review changes to the product, processes and materials
  • Reviews Drawings (that include GD&T) and process instructions for accuracy, risk and completeness
  • Assist/resolve Quality in-process issues
  • Lead and/or facilitate the resolution of quality issues utilizing the 7 QC tools
  • Monitors product/process performance for trends in efforts to prevent the generation of defective material or opportunities for improvement
  • Supports product development
  • Administers internal and external quality and or process audits
  • Communicates with external providers to provide a clear understanding of the quality expectations
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field
  • Familiar with ISO9001 Quality Management System standard (AS9100 is a plus)
  • Adept with standard measuring equipment
  • Working knowledge of statistical process control techniques
  • Working knowledge of 7 QC tools
  • Experienced in modern RCCA (root cause/corrective action) techniques
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Basic computer skills using Microsoft Office
