Job summary

EnerSys Advanced Systems (EAS) is a division of EnerSys delivering power systems for aerospace, defense and medical industries. The Quality Engineer role ensures customer contractual compliance and drives quality improvements across products, services, and systems.

Responsibilities include conducting FAI, coordinating inspections, creating quality plans, applying RCCA methods, and auditing processes, with focus on ISO9001/AS9100 and data-driven trend analysis to prevent defects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field required
  • Familiar with ISO9001 Quality Management System; AS9100 is a plus
  • Adept with standard measuring equipment and RCCA techniques
  • Working knowledge of statistical process control and the 7 QC tools

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical unbiased voice to and from the customer regarding quality matters and expectations
  • Responsible for FAI, customer and government source inspections
  • Create product and process quality plans
  • Determine controls on production devices affecting quality
  • Review changes to product, processes and materials
  • Review drawings (GD&T) and process instructions for accuracy and completeness
  • Assist in resolving in-process quality issues
  • Lead or facilitate resolution of quality issues using the 7 QC tools
  • Monitor product/process performance for trends and prevention opportunities
  • Support product development and audits (internal and external)
  • Communicate quality expectations with external providers

The Quality Engineer performs activities that ensure customer contractual compliance, continual quality improvements to products, services, and systems; and corporate compliance to ISO9001/AS9100. Activities are focused around assembling, analyzing and monitoring data for trends, events, and opportunities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Technical unbiased voice to and from the customer regarding Quality matters and expectations
Responsible for FAI, customer and government source inspections
Creating product and process quality plans
Determines the controls on production devices directly affecting the quality of the product
Review changes to the product, processes and materials
Reviews Drawings (that include GD&T) and process instructions for accuracy, risk and completeness
Assist/resolve Quality in-process issues
Lead and/or facilitate the resolution of quality issues utilizing the 7 QC tools
Monitors product/process performance for trends in efforts to prevent the generation of defective material or opportunities for improvement
Supports product development
Administers internal and external quality and or process audits
Communicates with external providers to provide a clear understanding of the quality expectations

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field
Familiar with ISO9001 Quality Management System standard (AS9100 is a plus)
Adept with standard measuring equipment.
Working knowledge of statistical process control techniques.
Working knowledge of 7 QC tools
Experienced in modern RCCA (root cause/corrective action) techniques.
Excellent communication skills
Basic computer skills using Microsoft Office
