Job summary

EnerSys Advanced Systems seeks experienced professionals to support installation and troubleshooting of energy storage systems and battery technologies across Land, Sea & Air platforms. You will investigate technical issues, coordinate with laboratories, and advise customers on suitable battery options.

This role requires strong communication, regulatory reading skills, and the ability to travel up to 25% for site visits and training.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant industry experience and/or training.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline preferred; equivalent education plus industry or military experience considered.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret business, technical, and regulatory documents.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including reports and presentations.
  • Proficient in mathematical calculations (percentages, proportions, geometry, algebra).
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, email, internet tools, and ability to learn EnerSys systems.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Confidential security clearance.
  • Willingness to travel overnight up to 25% for training, meetings, and customer support.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, coordinates, and generally supports activities concerned with installing batteries and associated equipment.
  • Investigates and resolves customer reports of technical problems with batteries and charging systems.
  • Eliminates future operational or service difficulties by performing duties in Essential Duties & Responsibilities.
  • Includes applications engineering efforts related to Land, Sea & Air products and chemistries.
  • Follows company policies and procedures including safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
  • Provides technical assistance to EnerSys customers during storage, installations and maintenance.
  • Coordinates with EnerSys laboratories for removal, disassembly, and analysis of batteries to detect defects.
  • Diagnoses and troubleshoots battery monitoring equipment and related vehicle electronics.
  • Provides feedback to Product Engineering for continuous improvement.
  • Assists Sales, Service, and Engineering on special projects as needed.
  • Maintains a safe, orderly, and clean working environment.

Job Purpose

Plans, coordinates, and generally supports activities concerned with installing batteries and associated equipment, investigating and resolving customer reports of technical problems with batteries and charging systems, and eliminating future operational or service difficulties by performing the following duties as listed in the Essential Duties & Responsibilities section. This includes applications engineering efforts related to all Land, Sea & Air products and chemistries.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Follows all company policies and procedures as listed, but not limited to: warranty, safety, environmental, OSHA, DOT Hazmat, ISO9000 and AS9100.
  • Occasionally travels to customer sites to inspect, evaluate, diagnose, and repair EnerSys batteries and associated equipment.
  • Provides technical assistance to various EnerSys customers during storage periods, battery installations and maintenance availabilities.
  • Coordinates with EnerSys laboratories for the removal, disassembly, and analysis of batteries to detect defects and/or better understand performance.
  • Diagnoses and troubleshoots battery monitoring equipment as well as other associated vehicle (aircraft, land vehicle, submarine, robotic) electronic equipment related to EnerSys batteries.
  • Provides technical support to end users through assistance in the selection of the appropriate product and battery technology followed by training on the proper use and maintenance of EnerSys batteries in their applications and then, as needed, help in resolving any application issues that may arise. Provides feedback to EnerSys Product Engineering so that continuous improvement in products is achieved and customer satisfaction is enhanced.
  • Provides additional assistance on an as needed basis to other members of Sales, Service, and Engineering teams on special projects as they develop through the normal course of business. These could include, but are not limited to; customer visits, supplier visits, conference and trade show support, literature review and custom order reviews.
  • Maintains a safe, orderly, and clean working environment.
