Job summary

EnerSys Advanced Systems (EAS), a division of EnerSys, seeks an Engineering Technician to support production and engineering with machine setups, changeovers, and test activities in a high-tech environment.

You will develop manufacturing processes, write work instructions, and perform validation and root-cause analysis to improve quality, with minimum qualifications including a High School diploma and 0–3 years in manufacturing.

Qualifications

  • Minimum: High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 0-3 years in a manufacturing environment.
  • Preferred: lean manufacturing experience and familiarity with AS9100/ISO 13485.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot equipment with mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
  • Change dies on hydraulic powder compaction press.
  • Changeover and set up equipment; adjust settings and run startup/shutdown samples.
  • Develop manufacturing processes and write/edit work instructions.
  • Perform validation testing and root cause analysis to improve quality.

The Engineering Technician supports both production and engineering by performing tasks outside the scope of production operators. This includes some machine setups, product changeovers, process development, special engineering builds, prototype builds, testing and data collection.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot equipment containing mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems to resolve breakdowns.
  • Change dies on a hydraulic powder compaction press daily.
  • Changeover and set up equipment (e.g. changing tools, loading electronic recipes, adjusting settings to obtain desired results, performing startup / shutdown samples)
  • Develop manufacturing processes.
  • Write and edit work instructions.
  • Improve processes to reduce manufacturing scrap.
  • Perform validation testing.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to improve product quality.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 0-3 years in a manufacturing environment.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior manufacturing experience.
  • Prior experience in lean manufacturing.
  • Experience in AS9100
  • Experience in ISO 13485
