Job summary

Jobot in Goleta, CA is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to support cutting-edge space products and ensure compliance with AS9100 standards. You will lead CAPA activities, perform root cause analysis, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with program managers, engineering and manufacturing teams to drive continuous improvement on aerospace programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of Quality Engineering experience, preferably in space/aerospace.
• CQE certification preferred.
• Proven experience with AS9100.
• Extensive CAPA and non-conformances experience.
• Root cause analysis and corrective action experience.
• Strong knowledge of QA methodologies and tools.
• Excellent problem-solving and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with program managers, engineers, and manufacturing to develop QA plans.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
• Conduct internal and participate in external audits for quality/regulatory compliance.
• Identify non-conformances and lead CAPA processes.
• Use root-cause analysis to drive corrective actions.
• Maintain AS9100 quality management system.
• Support manufacturing with problem-solving and process improvements.
• Train and mentor junior quality engineers on QA processes and tools.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

1. Collaborating with program managers, engineers, and manufacturing teams to develop and implement quality assurance plans and procedures.
2. Ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
3. Conducting internal audits and participating in external audits to ensure adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements.
4. Identifying non-conformances and leading the corrective and preventive action (CAPA) process.
5. Utilizing your extensive experience in root cause analysis to identify areas for improvement and implement effective corrective actions.
6. Maintaining our AS9100 quality management system.
7. Providing quality engineering support to the manufacturing process, including problem-solving and process improvements.
8. Training and mentoring junior quality engineers and other team members on quality assurance processes and tools.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in Quality Engineering, preferably in the space or aerospace industry.
3. Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) certification is preferred.
4. Proven experience with AS9100.
5. Extensive experience with CAPA and non-conformances.
6. Proven experience in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
7. Strong knowledge of quality assurance methodologies and tools.
8. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
9. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
