Qualifications

• 4 year technical degree or equivalent, preferred Mechanical Engineering.
• 4–8 years experience in Quality Assurance or equivalent in Aerospace, Defense, or Nuclear Power environments.
• Must be mobile, capable of communicating with plant personnel at all levels.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills; strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform root cause analysis (8D, 5 Whys) and implement corrective actions.
• Participate in cross-functional investigations to identify and eliminate causes of quality problems.
• Interface directly with customers to provide the best customer quality experience.
• Perform audits to assure compliance with regulatory, customer, and internal requirements.
• Review customer blueprints, specifications and other technical/quality documents.
• Collaborate with Product, Manufacturing, and Engineering on quality-related issues.
• Review raw material certification and release for production as needed.
• Oversee testing and inspection procedures and coordinate inspections; analyze results.
• Investigate customer complaints with customer representatives to resolve problems.
• Ensure products conform to specifications and customer requirements.
• Become Delegated Quality Representative for selected customers.
• Facilitate LEAN/Six Sigma and other quality tools for process improvement.
• Prepare and review product data packages.

Job Details

Essential functions and Responsibilities

• Perform root cause analysis (8D,5 Whys) of identified issues and identify appropriate corrective and preventive action.
• Participate in cross-functional teams in the investigation and elimination of causes of quality problems and verify effectiveness on corrective actions (Corrective Action Board).
• Interface directly with customers to provide the best customer quality experience.
• Perform audits as required to assure compliance with regulatory, customer, and internal requirements.
• Review and assure compliance with customer blueprints, specifications and other technical and quality system documents including Purchase Orders.
• Work closely with Product and Manufacturing engineering, Manufacturing and inspection personnel on procedural problems involving design, methods, tooling, costs and other areas involved in control of product quality.
• As required review raw material certification and review/approve raw material released for production.
• Oversee critical testing and inspection procedures and coordinate inspections with customers and inspectors; analyze and document results.
• Investigate customer complaints on product quality and work closely with customer’s representatives to resolve problems.
• Ensure that the company’s products conform to all specifications and customer requirements.
• Become Delegated Quality Representative (Ref. AS13001) for selected customers.
• Responsible for assuring that customer quality requirements have been adequately defined to permit appropriate quality planning and implementation and that the quality requirements have been met.
• Facilitate the use of LEAN/ Six Sigma, and other quality tools for quality and process improvement.
• Prepare and review product data package.

Education and Skills Requirements

• 4 year technical degree or equivalent, prefer Mechanical Engineering
• 4-8 years experience in various phases of Quality Assurance or equivalent in Aerospace, Defense, or Nuclear Power generation environments
• Must be mobile, capable of communicating with plant personnel at all levels
• Excellent written and oral communication skills; composing written reports and other communications
• Superior analytical skills, capable of using current computer analysis tools (Microsoft Office, plus others applicable programs)
