Job summary

Pyramid Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Quality Engineer for a 12+ month contract in Auburn Hills, MI, onsite. You will support automotive product development and lead cross-functional activities to ensure robust quality throughout the lifecycle.

The role requires 5+ years in product engineering, hands-on testing/validation, and strong communication. Responsibilities include managing warranty resolution, coordinating project schedules, and driving process improvements using Six Sigma and GD&T

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in Product Engineering.
• 2+ years in testing/validation and test method development.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Automotive domain knowledge and ability to work with unionized workforce.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Project) and Teamcenter.
• Knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawings.
• Familiarity with HVAC, cooling, intake/exhaust systems.
• Design for Six Sigma and project management exposure.
• Ability to lead cross-functional meetings and document project progress.

Responsibilities

Pay Range: $40 - $44/hour. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitating cross functional project meetings Compile project status reports, coordinate project schedules, agendas, minutes and correspondence Identify and analyze system requirements, and define project scope, requirements, and deliverables involving multiple stakeholders
• Lead the resolution of warranty related issues - Accountable for problem solving process, proposed solution, validation, and weekly progress
• Lead Triage – warranty claims review, sorting claims and bucketing, review and call vehicles at dealers, support /Suppliers review at Quality Engineering Center and Manufacturing locations.
• Plants by physically reviewing the product/process changes, internal metrics and control plan update

Key Requirements and Technology Experience:

• Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc) in Mechanical Engineering from accredited University
• 5+ years of experience in Product Engineering
• 2 + years of experience in testing/validation/test method development, including fixture design, instrumentation, data acquisition, etc.
• Strong written and verbal communication/presentation skills
• Well-rounded automotive knowledge and ability to work well in a team-oriented environment and able to manage unionized workforce
• Proficiency in MS Office applications, specifically MS Excel and Project
• Working knowledge of Teamcenter
• Working knowledge of GD&T and understanding full detail on drawings
