Job summary

Wieland is seeking a Quality Control Technician for the Weekend Day Shift at our Verona, VA site. You will inspect materials on receipt, verify finished products against mechanical prints, and perform in-process checks to ensure compliance with procedures and ASME codes.

The role requires CI/QAI and Liquid Penetrant certifications within 90 days, strong measurement skills, and the ability to work on-site Friday–Sunday, 6:00 am–6:00 pm, with bi-weekly pay.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years in industrial manufacturing.
• Must be able to use standard and metric tape measures and gauges.

Responsibilities

Quality Control Technician, Weekend Day Shift

Wieland is hiring a QA Control Technician. The QA Technician will be responsible for performing inspection upon receipt of materials and recommends disposition. Reviews finished products to conformance of Mechanical Prints. Performs and Audits in process checks to assure compliance with procedures and ASME Code regulations. Must be or become CI (Certified Individual) certified within 90 days in this position as well as Liquid Penetrant certified. Works in conjunction with other departments to meet goals of safety, quality, cost, and delivery.

This role is located at 45 Sutton Road, Verona, VA and will be fully on-site.

Hourly Pay Range: $28.97-$32.29/hr., with compensation adjusted based on experience and qualifications.

Work Schedule: Friday - Sunday | 6:00 am-6:00 pm

Pay Schedule: Bi-weekly

Responsibilities

• Understand and adhere to company Quality Control procedures, as related to overall inspection requirements. Other duties may be assigned.
• Cooperates with production personnel and supervision to ensure maximum production with optimum quality, as established by management.
• Inspects incoming, in-process, and outgoing material, parts, and assemblies to specifications and Mechanical Prints following standard shop practice and/or special instructions.
• Performs specific calibrations, specific tests, and specific evaluations for acceptance or rejection determinations according to written instructions and records the results.
• Initiates NCR's and communicates with vendors to resolve issues.
• Disposes of rejected material.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required. Vocational or associate degree pertaining to position preferred.
• Candidate will have minimum three (3) years' experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Must be able to use standard and metric tape measures, calibers, weld gauges etc.
• Must be or become CI/QAI (Certified Individual/Quality Authorized Inspector) certified within 90 days in this position as well as Liquid Penetrant certified.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel/Word.
• Close vision, distant vision, color vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus and hand-eye coordination.
• Must have strong analytical skills and experience reading drawings/prints.
• Previous experience inspecting components and writing technical reports preferred.
• Must be detail oriented.
• Able to perform work in various physical positions including standing, kneeling, bending, stooping, reaching and may frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
• Able to perform work in a medium industrial setting with exposure to heat, cold, humidity, industrial odors, fumes, gases, chemicals, oil, grease, smoke, dust, noise, vibration, climbing ladders/stairs and working in cramped quarters.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
