Job summary

Wieland is seeking a QA Control Technician at our Verona, VA facility. The role inspects received materials, in‑process items, and finished products against mechanical prints and ASME regulations. CI certification within 90 days and Liquid Penetrant certification are required, with on‑site work in a medium industrial setting.

You will collaborate to meet safety, quality, cost and delivery goals, using tape measures, calipers, and Excel/Word to document results, and you must lift up to 25 lbs.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required; vocational or associate degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in using standard and metric tape measures, calipers, weld gauges, etc.
  • Must become CI/QAI certified within 90 days and hold Liquid Penetrant certification.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Strong vision, color vision, depth perception, and hand‑eye coordination.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience reading drawings and prints.
  • Prior experience inspecting components and writing technical reports preferred.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Able to work in various physical positions and lift up to 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and adhere to Quality Control procedures and inspection requirements.
  • Cooperate with production personnel to ensure maximum production with quality.
  • Inspect incoming, in-process, and outgoing material to specs and prints.
  • Perform calibrations, tests, and evaluations for acceptance or rejection.
  • Initiate NCRs and communicate with vendors to resolve issues.
  • Dispose of rejected material.

Position: QA Control Technician (on‑site, 45 Sutton Road, Verona, VA). The QA Technician will perform inspection upon receipt of materials, recommend disposition, review finished products for conformance to mechanical prints, and conduct in‑process checks to assure compliance with procedures and ASME Code regulations. Must become CI certified within 90 days and hold Liquid Penetrant certification. Works with other departments to meet safety, quality, cost, and delivery goals.

Pay: $28.97/hr, adjusted based on experience. Schedule: 1st Shift, Monday‑Thursday, 6:00 am–4:30 pm. Pay Schedule: Bi‑weekly.
