Job summary

Dickerson & Bowen is seeking a Quality Control Technician to sample, test, and inspect construction materials in Jackson and Brookhaven, MS. You will ensure compliance with specifications for soil, aggregate, and hot mix asphalt, reporting results to supervisors and plant personnel.

The role emphasizes following the company quality system, training Level I technicians, and upholding safety standards in a dynamic field/lab setting.

Qualifications

• Requires OSHA/MSHA knowledge and adherence to safety rules.
• 1+ year of related experience is required.
• State/Regional certification for sampling/testing/inspection is required; MDOT certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sample, test, and inspect construction materials (soil, aggregate, HMA) to ensure supplier/owner specs are met.
• Prepare and communicate testing results to supervisors and plant personnel.
• Follow company quality systems (GMS) and playbooks to ensure compliance.
• Train Level I technicians on sampling and testing procedures.
• Promote and participate in safety procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
