Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred.
• Regional or State Agency certification for material being sampled, tested, inspected required.
• MDOT certifications preferred.
• 1+ years of related experience required.
• Knowledge of OSHA and MSHA rules and regulations.
• Basic computer skills, Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with supplier and owner specifications by sampling and testing construction materials, including soil, aggregate, hot mix asphalt (HMA).
• Prepare and communicate testing and inspection results to supervisors and plant personnel to ensure quality control standards are satisfied and necessary process changes are implemented.
• Follow the requirements for materials quality outlined in the company management system (GMS) and the Construction Materials Playbook to ensure compliance and maintain high standards.
• Train Level I technicians on sampling and testing of construction materials to prepare them for additional certification and enhance their skills.
• Participate in and promote company safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment and compliance with safety regulations.
