Job summary

Accumold is seeking a Quality Control Technician to support production on 3rd, 4th, and 5th shifts in Ankeny, IA. You will implement the quality system on the production floor using SPC, calibration, and inspection/testing to monitor and improve product quality.

Responsibilities include inspecting products, recording results, and compiling statistical data. You will assist with quality issues, perform gage calibrations, train others, and maintain quality records in a climate-controlled

Qualifications

• Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED required; two year technical associate degree in quality or related field, or two years manufacturing experience preferred.
• Computer Skills: Proficient with PC, fax, copier, and phone; accurate data entry.
• Language Skills: Clear written communication; ability to read and follow instructions and communicate with colleagues.
• Mathematical Skills: Basic math, decimals, fractions; ability to read specifications and tolerances.
• Reasoning Ability: Solve practical problems; follow simple verbal instructions.
• Other Skills and Abilities: Willingness to attend training to update knowledge.
• Supervisory Responsibilities: None.
• Physical Demands: Frequent sitting/standing; fine motor work; lift up to 55 lbs.
• Work Environment: Climate-controlled with moderate noise.

Responsibilities

• Inspects and tests products at various production stages using measuring and testing equipment.
• Records inspection results in paper and electronic systems.
• Compiles and evaluates statistical data to ensure product and process quality.
• Prepares First Article Reports as required.
• Assists Production staff with quality/measurement issues.
• Performs gage calibration and Gage R&R studies as needed.
• Communicates with suppliers about material issues and corrective actions.
• Trains employees on in-process inspection techniques.
• Reports quality problems to the Quality Manager.
• Maintains quality records and documentation.
• Performs other duties as needed.
