Job summary

Giovanni Foods is seeking a Quality Control Technician to join our production team. You’ll perform essential quality checks on batches, test using Bostwick, Brix, and pH methods, and document results for traceability.

The role mixes hands-on testing with data recording and collaboration with operators and supervisors to sustain product integrity and safety across our lines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; associate degree preferred.
• Prior experience in manufacturing or lab QC preferred.
• Experience with food safety systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate in-process and finished products against quality specs.
• Perform Bostwick, Brix, and pH testing and flag deviations.
• Conduct line checks for temperature, packaging, and labels.
• Calibrate and maintain quality lab instruments.
• Document data to support food safety programs and GMPs.

About the Role

As a Quality Control Technician, you’re the frontline guardian of food safety and product integrity at Giovanni Foods. In this hands‑on, fast-paced role, you’ll work directly on the production floor, performing critical quality checks, and also spend time documenting results and collaborating with the team behind the scenes.

This job blends physical activity with technical precision—you’ll be testing batches, interacting with operators, checking packaging specs, and troubleshooting in real time. What You’ll Do

• Evaluate in-process and finished products to verify they meet quality specs
• Perform Bostwick, brix, and pH testing—and alert process leaders to any deviations
• Conduct line checks for temperature, capper steam, label accuracy, cap alignment, and glass integrity
• Verify batch flavors and finished goods against product standards
• Calibrate and maintain quality lab instruments
• Document and analyze data to support food safety programs
• Promote GMPs, safety, and regulatory compliance in your work and across the team
• Support training initiatives and continuous improvement efforts
• Work closely with operators, warehouse staff, and mechanics to uphold quality standards

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; associate’s degree preferred
• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment required
• Prior lab or quality control experience strongly preferred
• Prior knowledge about food safety strongly preferred
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to act quickly with sound judgment
• Strong communication skills and a professional demeanor
• Mechanical and mathematical aptitude a big plus
• Ability to stand for long periods and navigate the production facility
• Willingness to work in hot, cold, wet, or noisy environments as needed
