Quality Control Technician

Position Overview:

The Quality Control Technician collaborates with Manufacturing and/or Distribution locations to ensure laboratory inspections are completed accurately and timely, with results documented in applicable systems as per work instructions.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Receipt of samples and requirements documentation into the Laboratory.
  2. Maintain the electronic workload tracking system.
  3. Conduct laboratory testing according to documented test methods.
  4. Collect data for Laboratory KPIs.
  5. Manage Laboratory Concerns and Corrective Actions.
  6. Use of Q.A./Laboratory measuring and test equipment.
  7. Understand products, surface coatings, locking/sealing patches, and heat treatment.
  8. Generate Laboratory Test Reports.
  9. Maintain sample and documentation archives.
  10. Control specifications and reference materials.
  11. Perform Laboratory housekeeping.
  12. Manage laboratory consumables and temperature/humidity records.
  13. Maintain the laboratory calibration system.
  14. Control/Back-up Laboratory IT systems.

Skills and Qualifications:
  • Experience with precision measurement instruments (e.g., Micrometer, Caliper).
  • Blueprint reading; GD&T knowledge is a plus.
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment; automotive experience preferred.
  • Fastener experience is a plus but not required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic mathematics skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
