Job summary

Rogers Group, Inc. is seeking a Wheel Loader Operator for our Augusta Asphalt Plant in Staunton, VA. The successful candidate will operate a mid-to-large wheeled loader and support asphalt production with safety at the forefront. Day shift with some weekend/night work as needed.

Experience with CAT 980/988 or Komatsu WA500-8 is preferred. Requires ability to perform general labor, maintenance, and clean-up around the plant; pre-employment drug screen and I-9 documentation are required.

Qualifications

• Uncompromising focus on safety excellence.
• Have at least one year experience operating a mid-to-large wheeled front-end loader (CAT 980/988, Komatsu WA500-8 or similar).
• Ability to perform general labor, maintenance, and clean-up duties around the asphalt plant, as required.
• Experience operating heavy equipment such as track hoe, back hoe, and skid steer – preferred.
• Experience operating around an asphalt plant – preferred.
• Self-motivated; able to work independently without constant supervision.
• Ability to pick up new tasks quickly.
• Flexibility to work overtime and weekends when necessary.
• Pass pre-employment drug screen.
• Able to provide valid I-9 immigration documentation.

Responsibilities

• Operate a wheeled loader around the plant to load aggregate into bins for asphalt production.
• May operate other heavy equipment as production needs require, per plant manager/foreman discretion.
• Assist with plant maintenance, cleanup, and general labor tasks as needed.

Rogers Group is currently seeking candidates to fill a WHEEL LOADER OPERATOR position at our VA SMA Augusta Asphalt Plant, located in Staunton, VA. The successful candidate for this role will have previous experience operating a mid-to-large size, wheeled loader – like a CAT 980, CAT 988, Komatsu WA500-8 or similar. The successful candidate must also have an uncompromising commitment to safety excellence.

JOB DETAILS:

• Full-time
• Day shift (some weekend work and night work as needed)
• Location- Rogers Group Augusta Asphalt Plant- Staunton, VA
• Wages starting at $21.00/hr (depends on experience)

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• This role will primarily operate a wheeled loader around the plant to load aggregate products into the various bins for asphalt production.
• May also be required to operate various other pieces of heavy equipment as production needs require, and at the discretion of the plant manager and foreman.
• Duties will also include support and clean-up around the asphalt plant, general maintenance of plant and equipment, and various general labor tasks, as needed.
