Job summary

Rogers Group, Inc. is seeking a Quality Control Technician based in Staunton, VA to support Virginia SMA quarry operations. The role emphasizes testing materials to ensure compliance with specs, providing technical support, and maintaining safety-focused lab operations.

The candidate should have excellent communication skills, be able to work with test data, and maintain records and control charts while upholding a strong safety culture on site.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma.
• Proficient in computer and data entry tasks.
• Skilled in operating QC lab equipment and testing materials.
• Knowledge of aggregate testing procedures (gradation, XRF/chemistry, deleterious counts).
• Strong problem solving and critical thinking abilities.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly.
• Basic math and computing/technology skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; team-oriented.
• Self-motivated; able to work with limited supervision.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening and provide I-9 documentation.

Responsibilities

• Test selection of materials to ensure production of quality materials.
• Monitor production and certify test results for contracts or quality requirements.
• Maintain control charts and other required records.
• Operate testing equipment and company vehicles safely.
• Perform daily housekeeping and maintain a clean lab environment.
