$22/hr + Shift Premiums + Required Overtime | 6-Day Work Week
A long-standing, family-operated food production facility in Schaumburg, IL, is seeking two dedicated Quality Control Technicians for evening and overnight roles. With a 140-year history of distributing frozen dough products across the country, this organization maintains a compact, high-standard QC department where leadership prioritizes professional growth and a culture of ownership.
Evening shift: 1:30 PM to 9:00 PM, Monday through Saturday. Overnight shift: 9:30 PM to 5:30 AM, Monday through Saturday. Both schedules require six days of work per week with mandatory overtime. All new team members will complete a three-to-four-week training period during the day shift, working directly with a veteran technician who has over two decades of experience at the site, before moving to their permanent schedule.
Compensation and Benefits
Core Responsibilities
You will oversee quality assurance throughout the entire production cycle. Key tasks include verifying batch documentation, performing metal detection tests, checking labels and lock codes, conducting allergen and ATP environmental swabs, and monitoring visual quality from mixing to molding. You will also perform divider weight checks and hourly belt link inspections. You are empowered to halt production if quality standards are not maintained. The overnight position also involves conducting pre-operational line releases prior to the Monday morning startup.
Required Qualifications
Ideal Candidate Profile
This position is perfect for individuals with a background in manufacturing quality who excel at thorough documentation. You are comfortable with a schedule that includes Saturday shifts and are eager to join a team that values rigorous quality standards and invests in employee development. You thrive in environments where quality is a top priority rather than an afterthought.
Role Limitations
This position is not suitable for those requiring a daytime schedule or those with recurring conflicts on Saturdays. It is also not a match if you are seeking a base pay higher than $22/hr or if you prefer a role with a lighter workload, as the current six-day mandatory overtime schedule is a standard requirement.
