Responsibilities

  • Gather quality samples from large aggregate stockpiles.
  • Perform INDOT required quality testing and maintain paperwork.
  • Maintain laboratory, stairs, and catwalks in clean order.
  • Troubleshoot issues and suggest corrective actions on field and jobsite locations.
  • Verify test results with outside testing agencies and maintain records.

The Quality Control Technician will inspect, sample, and conduct routine and special laboratory testing on construction aggregate materials according to the appropriate standard test method(s). Technician will perform tests to ensure the quality and consistency at the point of production and shipping. The individual will be expected to perform troubleshooting and recommend corrective action for issues arising on field and jobsite locations. The QC Technician will verify test results with outside testing agencies and maintain accurate and timely records on test data, product quality, and defective materials.

Essential Functions
  • Gather quality samples from large aggregate stockpiles
  • Perform all INDOT required and aggregate quality testing while maintaining all required paperwork and computer files
  • Must be current on all INDOT certifications
  • Maintain proper order and cleanliness in the laboratory, stairs, and catwalks
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, including but not limited to continuously growing in alignment with the Company's core values, competencies, and skills
Education Qualifications

Required High School or Equivalent

Skills and Abilities
  • Current INDOT Certification preferred
  • Experience with INDOT and CAPP preferred

Work Conditions/Physical Demands

The functions and abilities necessary to successfully perform in this position, but may not be limited to:

  • Standing, Walking, Sitting, Shoveling, Carrying/Lifting 15 to 50 lbs., Pushing/Pulling, Climbing
  • Stooping/Bending, reaching above shoulder level, Operate motor vehicle,Manual Dexterity (e.g. writing, typing,handling)

Work Site Conditions: Weather Exposure, Temperature Extremes, Noise, Odors, Dust or Mist, Fumes or Vapors, Limited Access

Ability to work on catwalks
