Job summary

Thorlabs is seeking a Production Associate in New Jersey to perform regular production tasks, supervise a team, and train inspectors to ensure meticulous part inspection. You will organize workflows, meet quality standards, and support implementation of quality systems.

You will work in a fast-moving environment with safety PPE, aiming for precise results and adherence to procedures. Lifting up to 20 pounds and detail-oriented work are required.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in a production environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer knowledge including Microsoft Office and Axapta.
• Experience with Quality in an R&D / New Product Development environment.
• Strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Fulfills regular production duties and completes paperwork on time.
• Oversees a team of employees and prioritizes work.
• Trains inspectors on how to properly inspect parts.
• Organizes and trains employees to meet guidelines and timelines.
• Ensures management needs are met and maintained.
• Communicates requirements to assure product quality and compliance.
• Assists with managing quality systems and identifying non-conformances.
• Performs detailed visual inspections, sometimes under microscopes.
